1 Week is in the Book. True or False...

Matt Davidson should be owned in all leagues: FALSE - I hope none of you fell for the old, some guy hit 3 home runs in one game so I have to pick him up ASAP, trick. He is a career .224 hitter and while he did hit 26 home runs last year, the 165 strikeouts and .220 average that came with him makes him less than appealing. It was one game. People get lucky.

Time to Panic about Kenley Jansen: FALSE - Kenley barely threw in Spring, and rightfully so as he pitched into November. He is a star and the Dodgers want to protect him. His arm is perfectly fine. What was not fine was his hamstring. A small pull of it late in camp shut him down a couple days. There has been no re-occurrence of the hamstring issue and he is simply working himself back into his groove. Sit back, relax, and watch him rattle off 30 straight saves.

Jose Martinez will be an All Star: TRUE - "He's our everyday guy." Those were the words spoken by the Cardinals Third Base Coach, Jose Oquendo. That is music to fantasy owners ears. He sports a high contact rate and rarely strikeouts. You mix that with having his name on the lineup card everyday when you arrive to the stadium, and you got yourself a damn good first baseman. He will hit for average and drive in run's. I am not saying he will be a starter, but when it comes time for the coaches to get their reserves in a game that once ended in a tie, why not snag a guy who can hit and play multiple positions.

Didi Gregorious will be a Top 5 Fantasy Shortstop: TRUE - When will Sir Didi get the recognition he deserves? He has become a force at the plate to go with the outstanding defensive abilities. He has that beautiful left handed swing you love to see. He is a good bet to reach 25 home runs for a second straight season, but what makes him really intriguing, is the fact he has been batting cleanup. If Boone keeps him in that spot, you can expect his RBI's to make a run at the century mark.

Blake Parker is the Angels reliever to own: FALSE - Blake Parker and Cam Bedrosian don't really get the needle jumping if you know what I mean. You know what is getting the speedometer jumping though? Kenyan Middleton's fastball. He is the Angels reliever you want to target. Parker and Bedrosian have both already stumbled out of the gate, while Middleton has already been called upon once to ride in on his horse and save them. Parker and Bedrosian are a few more (expected) hiccups away from losing their shared closer role duties and waiting in the wings is Middleton. Grab him while you can.

Gabe Kapler looks like a smaller John Cena: TRUE - Pictures don't lie...
